Yoga Built for Athletes
We started Gilunor because traditional yoga classes weren't speaking to runners, cyclists, and strength athletes who needed something different.
How did we get here?
Back in 2014, our founder was recovering from a marathon injury and couldn't find yoga instruction that understood athletic recovery. Most classes focused on relaxation or spiritual practice, which is great, but didn't address tight hamstrings, overworked hip flexors, or the specific mobility needs of someone training 6 days a week.
So we built something different. Every sequence we create considers the biomechanics of athletic movement. We work with physiotherapists and sports coaches to design flows that complement training cycles, not interfere with them. Our instructors have competed in everything from ultramarathons to powerlifting meets.
Today we serve athletes across 34 countries, from weekend warriors to professionals. Our library includes 156 specialized sequences targeting specific sports, recovery phases, and mobility goals. We're still learning, still refining, and still focused on one thing: helping athletes move better.
What makes our approach work?
We combine sports science with yoga tradition, creating sequences that respect both disciplines without compromising either.
Evidence-Based
Every sequence is built on research about athletic movement patterns, injury prevention, and recovery protocols. We cite our sources.
Periodization Aware
Our programs adjust intensity based on your training phase. Heavy volume weeks get restorative flows. Taper weeks include more active mobility. We track your season.
Sport-Specific
Runners need different hip work than cyclists. Climbers have different shoulder demands than swimmers. We've mapped 23 sports and their common restriction patterns.
Who's behind the platform?
Seren Kovalenko
Former competitive runner with 14 years of yoga practice. Holds certifications in sports yoga, functional movement, and injury rehabilitation. Competed in 18 marathons before shifting focus to helping other athletes stay healthy.
Liora Bergström
Physiotherapist and yoga instructor specializing in endurance athletes. Designs our recovery protocols and works with coaching teams to integrate mobility work into training plans. Background in Nordic skiing and triathlon.
What guides our work
Honest Progress
Flexibility takes months, not weeks. We show realistic timelines and celebrate small gains.
Athlete First
Your training goals come before our yoga philosophy. We adapt to your schedule and priorities.
No Gatekeeping
We explain the why behind every pose. You should understand what you're doing and why it matters.
Continuous Learning
Sports science evolves. We update our programs quarterly based on new research and athlete feedback.
